Three coyotes hit in an '01 at 80 mph on windy canyon road. New front end and engine; I walked away with nary a scratch. Verdict: Extremely crash-worthy.

Yeah, I heard our car was pretty tough. It's great to have facts to back it up. Just out of curiousity, for those who have switched to a carbon-fiber or fiberglass hood, do you think that the new hood would negatively effect a front end collision? My own guess is that a negative outcome would occur. CF is super tough, therefore no 'crumple zone' built in like our aluminum hood. The fiberglass would seem to do better but not as well as the O.E. hood. Any inputs from the audience?

Take care.

I love this site! I just used this thread to prove to my mom that the car I'm gonna buy isn't a death-trap roadster. This is something I already looked up and knew, but it's nice to have all the proof lumped together. Thanks guys!

What happened?
Long story... but essentially, I ended up hopping a curb backwards and sliding sideways into a retaining wall. The repairs were expensive, but I walked away with little more than a stiff neck and a bruise on my hip where I hit the seat belt buckle.
