how fast was the s going? notice how the dummy's head rebounds back on the head rest, that must hurts

I suspect that's the standard 60Kph test.

Compare it with the Mazda MX-5, also known as the Miata. It bends in the middle!

I believe most crash test are done at 35 or 40 mph

Deceleration calculation:
60km/hour = 16.66m/s
approx elasped time of 'crumpling' = 0.10s
a = 166.6 m/ss = 17g's

Race car drivers with their fancy safety equipment can survive g's in the 60's. So 17g's doesn't sound too bad.
