to all the high school owners in this thread. There are more of us than I thought.

My insurance is not horrible, I did that drive log book for the insurance company as well as the good grades discount and no tickets discount. I think mines around $750 every 6 months. Its less than a WRX but more than an RX-8, as we checked on those cars as well. My parents pay my insurance as long as I don't get any tickets, keep my grades up, stay in my AP classes, and keep working at my job. But I did have to give up my life savings to my dad so I could get the car in the first place.

your best bet is to do as follows:

1. set your budget, what you can afford, either monthly or a total purchase.
2. choose whether or not you want used or new. used i would go with the highest end most fun car, new i would choose something loaded with features but less expensive...example....a used 3 series with sport package or even an m3...new a mazdaspeed 3 or acura tsx...you get the point.
3. when you have narrowed it down to a segment of the market, say japanese sedans under 24,000...go drive each and every one...then narrow in on a model and go buy it....

three simple steps..you choose, what we can offer is what we would choose, you have to live with it every day, and pay for it...you should end up with allot of cars in your lifetime...so this one will not be your last, just your first. it cannot be the end all, but it can be what you need.

oh...for my son, when he was 17, we got a used 3 series with all the options, a 4 door with 6 airbags...since then he had modded it and driven it hard, but the dna was good to start with.

yes, the trunk is A LOT more useful than you'd think. i've filled it up nicely with: groceries, books, clothes, a supercharger/aftercooler, and even an S2000 transmission--pic available upon request
Hey I definately want to see that pic! Back on topic, I took everything out of my trunk and there is an abundant amount of space.
