Default S2000 Differences

Well hello there i'm new to this board and my apologizes if I have posted this topic in the incorrect section or if there are many posts about this issue I am about to discuss.
so to get down to it I just wanted know everyones option regarding the little changes the S2000 has gone through since the 04.here are my questions

1)Can you feel the loss in power with the 06 model?(237hp instead of 240)

2)Do you like the S2000 with having VSA

3)During Driving is there a big difference in feel to sum it up do you like driving a 04-05 or 06-07....

I know my questions sound kinda lame but I just wanna know since I am planning on buying a used one since I totaled my last car
here's a pic of it...

The hp did not really drop...the method for calculating hp was changed, so only the number changed, not the output of the engine.

One nice thing about the MY06+ cars is that you can get a Hondata reflash for improved performance. All other S2ks have to use a piggy-back or ecu replacement.

When buying a used car, best rule of thumb is to buy the newest lowest milage car you can afford.

Well that is good to know that the slight hp loss wasn't a loss at all Thank you for clarifying this for me. I'm not familar with the hondata reflash how so does it improve your performance ...

The reflash adjusts the fuel maps and increases the redline to 8500rpm (which is safe...it gives the same piston speeds as the 9000rpm ap1). It also lowers the VTEC engagement to 5600rpm for a VTEC band that is as wide as the ap1. Midrange rpm performance is significantly improved. Add a Toda header and the increase improves even further.

Also...there is a slick new supercharger that was designed using Hondata's reflash software for the MY06+ cars should you ever become interested in going FI.

I believe most folks remove the ecu themselves or get a more knowledgeable friend to help. It is super easy. And you would not be able to drive the car while it the ecu is at Hondata.

We have local s2ki groups who are generally very helpful. When you are ready, post in your local s2ki forum and see if someone would be willing to help or attend a regular meet and ask for help.

It takes just a few minutes, but you do need to follow the PCM shut down procedure for the MY06+ so as not to ruin the ECU:

ECM logic/SSD mode. The ECM/PCM performs several functions after the key is turned off and removed. You must wait at least 15minutes after the key is turned off before unplugging the PCM. If you unplug the PCM while it's performing the SSD (self shut down) tests you can permanently damage the PCM

I don't own a s2000 but I can answer your questions.

1. There is no change in power
2. VSA helps when you get into tricky situations. It makes the car much more "safe" in the hands of a not so great driver.

Btw if you don't mind me asking, was that a tc you totaled? If it was due to reckless driving be exxxxtra careful with a s2000.
