S2000 to be discontinued
This thread deserves to be bookmarked and brought back just like the dozens of other "no more production" threads from "reliable sources". So, did it say which year is the "last year"? I'm going to assume that it will be 2006 will be the last year. When 2007 S2000 comes along, I'll be sure to bring this back to life and call somebody a LIAR!

I did hear it from Honda's mouth during a press release back in the 3rd quarter of last year.. even posted it but no one seemed to give 2 shats. If you search on Honda's News website, you'll find it. ITs where the CEO was discussing the fact that the S2000 was a sales dissapointment because it was too focused of a car and didn't appeal to everyone. Also stated that the replacement would have "paddle shifters, a type R variant, and diffrent trim options". Ill search through my post to see if I can find it.
Lies. The new S2000 will offer 3-wheel drive, feature a inline, horizontally opposed 1.0l engine, both super-charged and turbo-charged, and will have a ready bake oven in the passenger-side dash. Awesome.

Honda will not back down from their stance in this market. Think about it carefully. They are making big strides in Formula One and they basically have two teams competing this year. (At least they are funding two teams). Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.
I see Honda as an emerging superpower in F1 and they will need at least one car to commemorate this. The new NSX is a specialty car, unatainable by mere mortals. If Honda pulls out of the 30-40K sports car segment, they would be literally handing business to Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Ford, Chevy, BMW...the list goes on...
