This rumor has been floating since I came to the predecessors of this board in Dec. of 99. There was an initial commitment by Honda Motors to a model run, which with Honda is usually 4 years. AHM commited to only one year of inportation and they have been 1 "yearing" it ever since.
Honda sells every single unit of this vehicle that is produced, and with the proliferation of new Japanese sports cars from their competitors, it would seem foolish, to me, to think that they would drop this car at this time.
Some dealer spurs this thread up about every 4-6 months, by telling "true stories for an unnamed source at AHM", and it seems that the car just keeps reappearing the next model year. I predict that will continue for quite some time

If they really did 'discontinue' the S2000, I bet it would only be temporary. It'd probably be something like the Civic Si where they stopped production for a year or two and then came back out with it with changes like a i-vtec engine or something.

The dealers better not run out of used or unbought s2ks since I'm going to wait for a long time before buying one. My first car is going to be a 96' Civic for 1,000 dollars. Hey, it still gets about 35 miles per gallon. Guess what my avatar is going to be.

A gixxer is the only sportbike I'll own!!! I wanted to trade up for the 1000 but the 750 is really all the speed I need. I might get a hayabusa later tho for more comfortable 2-up riding..gotta keep the chics comfy.

Smokin Joe's 600 ehh?...nice replica. The new 600 Telefonica looks tite too!

It's likely that 2003 is the last year for the S2000.
