A lot of people don't know that. And I only have one muffler. Two is for show-offs
I think Honda used two mufflers in the design of the exhaust system simply to achieve the best possible flow with the least possible noise. I think they did a damn good job since nobody can post up an accurate and controlled test dyno sheet of an exhaust that makes power... at least that I've seen.

What the honda engineers sacrificed was weight. Mugen is the only company that I know of that has produced an exhaust system that has reduced weight, not lost power, and has a quiet tone all at the same time.

Please have proof such as a dyno plot that shows the base line dyno in stock form and then an "after" dyno plot where only the exhaust was changed before you claim that there is an exhaust that makes power. I would love to see a real gain from an exhaust besides noise and weight.... seriously.

BTW, my butt dyno did not notice any difference between my 12# JIC SS/TI single and the stock mufflers. My wife and my ears on the other hand didn't really appreciate the noise.

I've enjoyed reading all the posts in this thread, even though I personally think it is more important to be understood than it is to have perfect grammar or spelling. In some cases using the correct terms can be important; For example, confusing struts and shocks can cause problems when we talk about suspension tuning. However, in the case of header(s) I can't see were it makes much of a difference. Some call the pipes "primary pipes," and "secondary pipes," which are followed by a "collector," and the entire assembly is called a "header," and in the next sentence the same person may use the term "headers" (referring to the single assemblage of pipes and collector). As long as the context makes the meaning clear I don't see where the terminology matters that much.

If it *is* that critical, we're all in deep dodoo, because none of us get our terms right consistently, and we all make spelling mistakes (or typo's) once in a while. why hasn't anyone said anything about the people who don't capatalize properly. what about the run-on sentences we see all the time what about the way people slaughter the language and mispel ever werd if u no wat m takin bout it makes posts hard as heck to read but people mostly only complain when somebody USES ALL CAPS (punctuation or not)

One of my favorites is:

"I am that that I am am I not"

How many of you can punctuate that in a way that makes it into a correct sentence?

HOLY CRAPPOLI!!!!!!
You mean to tell me that I paid $29K for a FOUR CYLINDER????????

It's not a V6? I had no idea! Do you think I can force the Honda dealer to take the car back? It's only been 2 years.
Mark,

You're missing two cylinders? I would walk into the dealer and demand they give me my two missing cylinders! Sheesh the nerve of some dealers!

seeing how awesome the s2000 is i don't doubt the engineers behind it. they got mad skills! if they (honda) can build an awesome car i don't doubt they could make an awesome exhaust.

Green jacket brown jacket, who gives a $hit?
This some times makes me laugh. I am guilty of saying it even though I know the difference.
I work on MTU engines that are V8's and upto V16's, they have Manifolds.

Maybe the missing cylinders are in the secret compartment.
