I concurr that Ebay appears to be a poor forum for selling cars... at first glimpse. But my experience is that the dealing is rarely closed on Ebay. Checking completed items shows that the majority of item do not meet their reserves.

This was the case with my S2000, which sadly had to be sold, but followup emails with the several interested parties led to a very good outcome for all.

But this oucome is not reflected on Ebay since the reserve was not met in ordinary bidding. I do not find this surprizing since for a purchase the size of a car, people usually need to build up some confidence that the car is real, and that you are not a crook. This usually happens with a test drive and several conversations... not an anonymous bidding forum.

Anyway, I was most satisfied with the sale of my car... facilitated, but not closed by Ebay.

Scott: I pulled up the S2000 advertised on the link you posted, and can't believe someome could consume enough alcohol (or whatever) to do that to their car! That's why I am always very cautious about deviating from stock as to appearance! I use digital photography and prototypes to make sure I'm not ruining things like this before I do them.

But, thanks for the reminder that we all need to avoid going "over the top" on mods.

Thanks,
Richard

I have been amazed at the "bargins" that are to be found on Ebay in regards to NSX's. Tempting to say the least.

Not long ago I saw a 1991 NSX on ebay with 38,000 miles on it
go for $15k (buy it now). Why didn't I buy it? Because someone
beat me to it! I'm STILL kicking myself for not having checked
the board a few hours earlier!!! AHJHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I regret having listed my car on Ebay - I think I could have gotten a much better deal if I had persevered and sold through local print media.

I dunno.... look at bboxer (i think that is her name).... she is looking to sell her yellow '01 in souther california... it has been forever for her... her price is $26,500 or so...... i think the car only has 12k miles too.... it is listed in the for sale section.

I would be happy with what you got considering the current market!
