Default S2000 engine built like NSX?

I thought I had read, at some point, that the NSX engine is built by one technician, as opposed to going down a line with several people bolting parts on. Is this true and does it apply to our cars as well since the two are built side by side? (A fact that gives me great pride, by the way .)

It would be nice but I doubt that either engine is built that way.

The NSX is. The components are weighed for balance. I would be surprised if the S2000's engine is given the same attention. The X is $90K, the S $30K.

NSX
MANUFACTURING

The NSX is that it is the only car from a major manufacturer that is still built entirely by hand.

All NSX are produced in 1 factory in Tochigi, Japan that was specifically built for the production of NSX

All I know is that S2000 engines are (or were, rather) shipped to Tochigi fully assembled, ready to go into the cars. We never did find out how, where or by who the engines get assembled.

Damn, with so much aluminum, I'm surprised the US version weighs 3175lbs. Too bad the US consumer market for the NSX leans more toward comfort than overall performance.

Are you suggesting that a JDM NSX weighs less?

Care to provide some proof?

In '99 they imported the ZANARDI edition that was more race oriented.
