S2000 an "Exotic"?
This is how I look at it. Exotic means different. Such as, engine placement, number of cylinders and such. Ferrari 360 modena, only 8 cylinders, the same as a mustang GT, but the Ferraris engine is in the middle. Porsche, only a flat 6, but placed in the rear. Ferrari 550 Maranello, front engine just like the S2000, but the Ferrari has 12 cylinders. To me thats what makes a car an exotic. But thats just my point of view.
Hmm....so in response to that........
The S2000 has an engine in the front, and has only 4 cylinders....sorta like 60-70% of all other cars out there.
Guess its not an exotic then?
Just another way to look at it I suppose...thats what I like about opinions.

Well, I feel like I should add my .02 here -- to me an exotic is a car you don't see every day, that is somewhat exclusive in ownership, that has performance that is "above par" for the norm, and striking looks.
Now, having never personally been in an S2000 (I drive a different Honda), admittedly, I would not classify it as an exotic.
Yes, it does have an impressive redline and power per liter. But as far as I have seen, Hondas in general have that.
As a consideration, how would a Corvette Z-06 compare as an exotic? It's priced higher, and the engine, while not having 120hp per liter, still puts out a respectable 400bhp, and a lot of torque.
On the skid pad I don't know of much that can touch it, nor at the track. And it's not a car you see every day.
Does the Corvette Z-06 count as an exotic? That's a tough call.
Does my NSX count as an exotic? That's a tougher call...
To each their own...

IMHO, it is a state of mind. I had been following all of the Ferrari vs. non-Ferrari threads lately, and I think I am starting to see why their car is considered an exotic, and ours are not.
One other idea for what makes an exotic? That people off of the street will see your car and this it's an exotic. While we can all argue the merits of our given cars, to most it just doesn't matter -- are cars are not Ferraris... :|
