S2000 on fifth gear
anyone who things that the s2000 needs a 5 speed auto and all these other uneeded things need to go buy some other car like a toyota camry or something.
as for the power department, i do think that honda needs to bump it up. the s2000 is in big need of more torque. it would be nice honda manufactured a small turbo for it and allowed for dealer installs and retain the stock warranty or honda care for it if dealer installed (like the mazda miatas a couple years back.) i mean c'mon now! nowadays you can stick an OEM honda turbo on the accord's 2.4 litre ivtec since its the same one as the RDX turbo.

I can't see what the fuss is all about. The Honda S2000 is completely stock. The Murano had its engine modified to provide the same power to weight ratio as the Honda, it had enormous custom brakes installed and extensive suspension modifications. All done by top factory personnel. It is a one-off, as she says twice in the show. Basically, this is the factory's best shot at squeezing every bit of performance out of the Murano. Now, imagine the Murano up against a similarly modified S2000 with 100 extra horsepower, say a supercharged S2000 with racing pads, tires and 4.77 rear end. Think that there would still be only a 3 second difference?
In other words, nothing in that program suggests that any Murano obtainable by anyone who can't have Nissan custom modify one for them could run with a S2000. Those of you who are flipping out over this program are living in a fantasy land where boogiemen might jump out at you and go boo.
I can't get over what an insecure bunch of people are on this website. There are always going to be cars that perform better in one way or another than the Honda S2000. To have people going on about how Honda has to update the car because a special factory works one-off modified vehicle from another manufacturer loses to the S2000 in a performance run is the height of automotive insecurity. As a cure, I suggest that you put the top down on your car and go for a long drive on a twisty country road until you are smiling again.

I agree though, if Honda were to release a "Type-R" or "Type-S" version of the S2000, it would easily be able to beat the Murano.
At this point the GT-C isn't in production, and if it does make production it might be tuned down too, so its all speculation. But its still a cool vid to watch!
common, this is a large v6 or even a v8 with over 345 hp, a custom built one of vehicle that is professionally moded against a stock 4 cyl roadster with 240 hp.
the only reason for the compare is to put the nissan against the BAR, the S2000 is the BAR for 2 seater roadsters, that is the only reason they chose it...and because it was her car!
bottom line, the custom Nissan handles well for a suv that costs in excess of ???? potentially the Nissan could benifit from these mods on their street version. better to compare to a X5 or Porsche SUV.

that video made me want to do one thing and one thing only. Go out an drive my S2000.
Damn it looks good. Damn it sounds good. Damn it handles good.
3 seconds is a fair bit, but congrats to the Nissan engineers for have some semblance of "sport" in an SUV
