is the s2000 fragile?
why is it so hard to find a good condition used s2000? each one i test drive seems to be a little weird.
also it seems like a bad idea to get a used s2000. seems like they could get beaten up very easily.
the image of a used s2000 is different from a different used car...

What do you mean a little weird? weird noises? weird handling? I mean what are you comparing it to? The S2000 is a fun car, and it is most fun when pushed hard. Im sure just about every single S out there was push hard at one time. I beat up on mine from time to time and it seems to like it very much.
edit: Oh, to answer your question - the S IMO is not fragile at all.

This is a sports car, not a luxury sedan. However, it is a Honda and that's why they hold their value. I don't find that many of them have problems at all. Try shopping for a used STI or EVO...tell me what you find. Sometimes I think people should think twice when they buy this car

I wouldn't buy a used performance car. even if the car did get all services, you still have no idea how the previous owner drove the car. If you can not afford a new one, try to get one with very low miles...under 5k miles.
If money isn't an issue, I agree that I wouldn't but a used sports car but for most, there is at least a slight money concern.
I know what you mean, I looked at 26 different S2000's before I bought mine, they are out there you just gotta look hard and not be afraid to pay a bit more for one that is well documented, low milage, numbers matching, little to no mods, etc.
I bought mine from a 62 year old guy that had a midlife crisis with 14,000 miles (it's gonna be tough to find that these days). Bone Stock and he happened to have the OEM hardtop and OEM Stand as well.

Finding one from a private seller who was the first owner is best. I bought mine from the original owner with 15K miles on it...the car was a weekend toy, bone stock, sat under a car cover in a garage most of it's life.
