Default Is the S2000 a freakin' race car?

It's only a damn 4 cylinder

I'm driving back from lunch and i'm at the stop light about to turn left. I noticed a LT1 camaro turning right at the intersection perpendicular to me (so he's coming my way going the opposite direction). Slowly and quietly, he turns. Then he see's my car and stomps on it. I can hear his aftermarket exhaust (and probably cams) roaring as he passes me. Question is: Does he expect me to jump the curb, bust a U-turn, and catch up to him?

Last night, Honda_Guy and I are in the parking lot of a Barnes and Nobles. While standing outside, next to our cars, a truck (lowered, rims, loud exhaust) stomps on it and peels out in the parking lot. Alrighty... Are we suppose to jump in our cars and peel out too?

We head out to Fridays and after eating we are chatting outside standing next to our cars, then a present model Mustang GT (with aftermarket exhaust) stomps on his gas too. I thought he would at least pull up next to us, but he ends up going into Blockbuster. Did he want us to follow him to Blockbuster?

Damn people, i'm in an S2000, not a Supra TT or NSX.

What's weird is that it's usually domestic cars, not imports.

BTW, I just ordered my MG Racing air filter, so watch out!!

These people are messing with you since our cars look fast, even when they're just parked. Also, since they are still pretty rare, I'm sure they want to test out and see how fast you can go.

LOL...great post!

Yea, some people never cease to amaze me with their reactions/expectations to Scarlet. When Brad and I were driving back from Asheville, we stopped on a highway in the middle of Deliverance, Tennessee and this guy in beat up old Mustang does a fly-by reving on us the whole time...then he turns around and does the same thing...staring us down the whole time! We were like WTF was THAT all about?!?

It's tremendous entertainment and what I consider to be a fringe benefit of driving this car around...hilarious!

To answer your original question, yes, the S2000 is a freakin' race car.

to be more accurate, yes, s2000 is true racing car on the track but not a drag racer on the streets.

Great post! I had to laugh. I've only hade my S2k for about three weeks (1,500 miles and counting rapidly) and the thing that surprised me most was some driver's reaction.

I just know this has happened to nearly everyone here: I'm just cruising along enjoying my ride, at or about the speed limit, and some guy pulls alongside to pass, gets right up next to me, passes me, then hits the gas (I can hear their little motors gasp and wheeze)?

This is not even a challenge, it's usually an SUV or a minivan. WTF, is this some sort of small member syndrom?

Sometimes I have to LOL. What an interesting world we live in!

DeeGYM, as most above have pointed out that is a great post. Brings smiles to my face. Great humour and mockery without resorting to derogitory statments.

Thankx
