i think there's already a thread on this.
But for my 2 cents, i think it would suck to have an automatic s2k!

Is it a SMG? If not, I will be surprised that they found a 6 speed auto that fit into S2000.

What I don't like about this is that now all the SISSYs will be buying an S2000 and we'll further lose some of our exclusiveness. We'll become the next generation Miata, I fear...

This would, IMO, degrade the character of the S2000. I do, however, find this to be more rumor than anything. I would be really surprised, after meeting with the S2000 engineers from Honda that they would do this...it seems to violate the integrity of the design imperitive - a true open car.

I could be wrong, but I really hope I'm not. Automatics belong in soccer mom's minivans and old men's Corvettes, not sports cars...

I agree, I sure hope they never offer an auto in the S2000...that would be upsetting.

Unfortunately, this news makes me think twice about getting the S2000. What attracted me the most, besides the 9000 redline, was the uniqueness and exclusiveness of this car. ANd i have to agree with a earlier statement.....turning into a miata like trend?

Then again...wait a minute...

As sad as it can be...Boxsters even come with Tiptronics...hell...even NSXs and Vettes come with Tiptronics...lol...even Carreras come with Tiptronics...

So I guess it's not that bad...

And if you were gonna buy an S2000 for exclusivity, then I guess you'd be buying it for the wrong reason.

I'm probably gonna get my '02 S2K tomorrow, but this changes nothing. It's still an amazing sports car, even if its variant comes in girl form.
