Why is your username brolinAP2 if you're unsure which to get? If you were smart you'd save that money for a down payment on a house. Just my opinion.

Also your dream car should be aimed a little higher than a honda cyl if you ask me

Why? One of my best friends would probably sell his soul for an AE86 if he could. Everyone's tastes are different. If a dream car to you is a Lambo or Ferrari, like me, then cool. If it's an S2000, that's cool too.

OP, read up on the differences between the AP1 and 2, and make your decision off that. Then, buy the cleanest one you can afford, and respect it.

I didn't think I'd ever crash my car either. Then the first rains of the season came, and I was on shitty all seasons the PO had installed, and slid ever so gently into a curb. After that, I paid close attention to the driving conditions, even more so than before. I have the utmost respect for my car now.

FYI, it was my first RWD car too.

Just my advice, coming from a new S2000 owner to a prospective one. Good luck. You'll f@#king love these cars.

My point was the s2000 is an easily attainable car. High school kids working at mcdonalds could afford one.

Hey sorry for replying late but im 18 years old had alot of fwd cars integras, prelude, civic boosted driven my friends ap, its going to be my first rwd car so im a beginer and budget is not a problem like i said and its going to be dd just to school and back not alot of driving probably get a side car and.im mostly looking into ap2 specially my06 and + and i dont care about the 9k redline of ap1. Overall i dont know much about the s2000 and how handles i really wanted to hear from people who have owned or driven different years of it, any help, opinions or advice would be great and thanks for replying means alot im new here

If its going to be daily driver and budget is no problem, I'd look into buying an 06+ s2000 (especially if you don't care for the characteristics of the AP1). Go test drive an Ap2 and see if you like it. If your going to get a side car than try to locate a s2000 CR, that way you can own one of the best s2000s! Maybe drop about 25-27k on a low mile fresh CR!

Frankly, if I were in your shoes, I'd get a Miata for $6-8K (which is 80% of a S) and save/invest the remaining. If you are going to school, I imagine you'll run up some debt. Your cash would be better put to use paying off loans/debt.

That said, if you have to ... High mileage 06+. You should be able to find them around $15K. Keep the rest for repairs, maintenance and ... insurance. Insurance is going to be cost an arm and maybe half your leg.

The S was my first RWD car and I made sure to get a car with VSA.
