S2000 has "no" torque?!
Wow.....not quite the selection of responses I imagined when I started the thread. Lets not close it...just yet.
The events above reinforce the fact that there are still, and will continue to be imbecile, uninformed, undereducated buffoons who waste their time violating useful bandwidth on great forums such as this one.

nons2k: Would you happen to be one of those cowards who key, or vandalize, those cars that you don't like? Just think, as much as you hate an "S", there are just as many cowards like you who hate the "Z".

Watch it nons2k. Threats and insults to other members are not allowed here. Consider this your first warning.
Personally, I think the "no torque" comments are valid. Relative to other cars, especially performance cars sold in North America, the S2000 really does have limited torque. I certainly wouldn't mind it having more torque.
Now, don't get me wrong. I don't believe for a minute that the relative lack of torque takes anything away from the S2000 at all. It's simply a characteristic of the car. In order to extract maximum performance from the car, you need to rev it high and keep it there. No problem with that. It's a damn fun car to drive, and when you rev the shit out of it, torque is the last thing on your mind.
There will always be people who bash other cars, and they tend to focus on certain characteristics of the car being bashed...in the S2000's case, torque is just the popular characteristic to shit upon. With the RX-7, it was reliability; with the Supra, it was weight; with the F-bodies, it's the handling. You get the idea.
Personally, if people don't like the car, then don't buy it. It's as simple as that. It's funny when folks bash other cars so they feel better about their own. For instance, one of my pet peeves is the shit about "the S2000 takes 11 seconds to get to 60 MPH if you keep it below VTEC". Comments like that are just retarded, because so the
what? If you drive a Supra TT to 60 MPH without boosting, it's pretty damn slow, too. Comments like "the S2000 has low torque", on the other hand, are valid in my book - it's a simple statement of fact, relative to other performance cars, and doesn't include any judgment.

This is all pretty absurd. NonS2k got what he wanted, and some of you took the bait.
And the threats, Nons2k, well, you need to be a little more restrained. Out of line.
The 350z is a good car. The S2000 is a good car. Different, both fun, with their respective strengths and weaknesses. After that, it's like arguing about what color hair is better.
