Maybe it's just my experience, but I find that a lot of SRT-4 owners are a bit cocky. It's not completely unwarrented though, since they are a lot of power for the price. But the thing I've noticed about S2000 owners (again, in my own experience), we don't usually feel a need to trash talk other people's cars. I think because the car is so much fun to drive, that we don't care it may loose to a stage 3 SRT-4 in the 1/4, or if it may loose to a 500hp corvette on a real race track (driver dependent). Take miata owners for example. They could care less that their cars are relatively slow and have a reputation for beeing or girl's/gay's car - they still love their cars and could give a f*** of what everyone else has to say.

That being said, I find most people who trash talk too much are insecure. Instead of having the best, they convince themselves what they have is the best.

Respect.

They're hating because they are just jealous they cannot afford a $33K real sports car and had to settle for a $20K POS ecobox.

Bottom line---The SRT's, WRX's, Evo's are just modified versions of econobox coupes and sedans. Don't get me wrong, I still think that they are great cars for what they are. Problem is, where I live, I see hundreds of Neons, Imprezzas, Lancers, V6 Mustangs, and the like every day. I'm lucky if I see another S2000 in a MONTH. Not only is this car great, it adds a touch of exclusivity(if that's a word).

Everyone has their own opinions. I personally would never buy a Ford. I think everything that company touches is crap, except maybe the GT. But even the GT falls short of the competition when compared to other cars of the same street price. Who cares what they think? The guy you referred to who loves his 97 Mustang Cobra, probably loves Budweiser and has a girlfriend who's over 200lbs. He needs those large seats and all that horsepower, just to carry the extra weight.

Ignorance in this are3a is the result of a closed mind, as was stated above. There are cars that I would not buy for one reason or the other, yet I am open-minded enough to admit they have their strengths. I think the SRT-4 is a great car for the money eventhough I would never buy one.

You can always tell the REAL car enthusiasts in a forum...they can see the positives in any vehicle.

I should stop reading posts at work.............too funny

Bottom line:
Jealousy can overpower reality.

Let's reflect on the fact that we all try to out-do each other on all facets- including automobiles.
Those SRT owners are only rippin' on our cars because they feel that we are a threat to their existence.........

We purchased our cars for the overall experience including top-down looks, and the thrill of driving a go-cart responsive car.
