the age old "Gets um' wet" factor weighs heavy in my mind at time of purchase. The S performs well in this category.

I would consider the SRT-4 as a daily driver. Say what you want, it's probably the best bang for the buck out there if acceleration is your thing.

Now, would I trade my S for an SRT-4? no.

that thread was full of just ignorant kids. the one who says the S can do a mid-high 14 at best just didn't know what he was talking about. then another said he owned one and it sucked....okay.

Even in the 1/4, where the srt really does shine for the $, the S beats it by .5+ seconds and 5mph. of course, they don't believe it and think their cars are the fastest things on the road, etc...and they think the srt4 handles well, too.

the srt4 is a bargain no doubt, but their owners usually have something to prove.

It's all a matter of where the vehicle falls in price and peformance. I don't see R&T or C&D including the SRT-4 along with Porsche, Lotus and other higher-priced cars. I do see the S2000 included - and place well when compared to the higher-priced competition.

The S2000, when compared to other cars in (or above) it's class is a bargain. From the ~$30K base price, you need to approach the price of a Boxster S to get similar value, and those are what, $50-60K?

The SRT-4 sells for about $20-21K, and I'm also sure that for the money it is a great car. It's no S2000, but then again, the S2000 is no SRT-4 (depending on where your values in what makes a great car reside).

If your car is great running in a straight line, then that's what you'll brag about. If your car handles the twisties well, then that's what you brag about.

The S2K may not be the leader in the speed/torque category, but its sleek, agressive look gives it alot of extra credit in my book. It is a WELL BUILT, head turning car, high powered go-cart. Screw the box-drivers (STi, etc). They're jealous about one thing they don't have........CLASS. Drive it and have fun.
