awww heck, now you might as well have the head and intake polished . . . regrind your cams, rework your valvetrain, and while your at it tear the whole motor down and blueprint/balance it. . .

At least wait till you put some major mileage on it before you tear apart a work of art. Thats how I see it, unless you already have a problem with it.
Once you break into a factory engine, they never seem to go back together exactly right . . .

Of course you could prolly get 300+ hp out of it without the supercharger but thats with about 10-20 grand into it.

How much did the gasket cost you?

Hmmm, I wonder what the stock gasket costs. Seems like much, but may be in the price range.

The JDM head gasket is thinner and results in 11.7:1 compression (up from 11.1:1) and 250hp (when used with the required 100 octane fuel).

I'm not sure on the Spoon, but you'd expect it to be thinner and result in even higher compression, higher horses, and detonation unless run on methanol.

Geez you can get custom made copper head gaskets for just over $100. And you get to choose the thickness. And they are reuseable and are great for turbo and other severe duty applications

Anybody know what thickness the us spec is?
The place I go for copper only offers .03" and .06" and recommends the .06" but then again they deal with fully built motors which include pistons. . .

Just curious
