Default S2000 HID light

compared to other cars I've owned with HIDs. I find S2000's HID is the best. I also compared to other cars (never owned) with HIDs, the only thing I think is comparable to S2000 is Audi TT with HID, Audi TT HID is so bright.

What you guys think?

I like the Porsches because they will re aim between hi and lo beams, so you get HID all the time while we don't.

agree, however I never use my high beam, maybe just SF bayarea, having both Hi and low beam with HID will be nice.

As far as HIDs go, I think that the S2K has the best, hands down. Even before I ever owned an s2000 I always said that the headlights were great. Cars like BMWs, which have bi-xenons are nice, but the low beam HIDs are not as nice as the S IMO.

Most projector-type HID systems are pretty damn good, really. The S2000 definitely has one of the best ones out there.

I have to disagree on the TT, though. It has one of the worst HID setups I've ever witnessed.

My Acura CSX's HID's aren't great either, but they're not projectors.

I love the adaptive headlights on BMWs, it maybe not be the brighest but it looks great. Seems like its multi-colored.

i consider myself to be a hid specialist. been in love with the technology since i first saw it on a lincoln mark 8.

technically speaking, the s2000 projector is the most efficient optic set up made by any company. if you look at the glass lens and compare it to other lenses, you'll see the others are as cloudy as bad diamonds. the ls430 has the widest light output, but the S2000 has the most intense output directly in front of the car. imo, you dont need adaptive headlights if you have a light beam as perfect as ours.

Yup, those concentric rings in the projector really ruin the light output... From my VW and Audi tinkering, I've found that DOT HIDs have more concentric rings than the TUV spec HIDs. Most E-code headlights also have glass housing to further enhance the clarity. Furthermore, bixenon projectors have more concentric rings than regular xenons, which makes sense 'cause you don't want to fry retinas with a sharp focused beam.

But yeah, the S2000 projectors are the best out there. I'm not familiar with the IS430, but the VW MKIV Euro-Projectors, (made by Bosch with glass housings) I had were just as wide, if not wider but didn't have the clarity of the S2K. I'm really curious to see if there is a difference in output between our DOT headlights versus the overseas headlights. I really miss the aggressive beam kickup that light up the signs to the right...

I love HIDs and LEDs in general, very nice beam pattern on the s2000! Way better than my HID flashlight
