Is the s the highest revving car on the market today ? (non auto racing)

Anything that rev's higher than 9K ?

The only thing I can think of is a Ferrari , McLaren F1 , Lambo ?

The S is the highest reving production vehicle at this time, the Modena is just a few hundred revs short.

There may be another car that I haven't heard of, but I believe the top 3 highest-revving cars on market today are:

1. Honda S2000 - 9000RPM
2. Ferrari 360 Modena - 8600RPM
3. Acura Integra Type R - 8400RPM

That doesn't count as production cars, if so then the Spoon S2K should come in first at 12k rpm.

What did spoon do to their engine to allow it to rev that high? I imagine the biggest challenge is keeping the electrical accessories and belts from being damaged at such engine speeds.

Although it will be rotary, the new Rx-8 is rumored to redline at 9000 as well.
