the bumper is repairable, the quarter panel looks like it did not get scratched at all, just make sure the shop tapes over the VIN sticker inside the trunk area on the rear bumper so it will still have the OEM VIN tag(not painted over) and you really should have no diminished value as the car will have all the original parts

dont get rid of that original bumper cover. Get it fixed, even when the body shop tells you to replace it. That VIN sticker can not be replaced

The body shop said they plan to repair and repaint that section of the bumper in order to keep the factory parts and as much of the factory paint as possible

Sorry about the damage and the headache. Something similar happened to my 08 but on my driver fender/front bumper. Hopefully it is just the bumper so it won't cost an arm and leg, good luck.

Typical southpoint.

I avoid that place like the plague.

Is the other persons insurance paying?
If a unlicensed driver was behind the wheel, they may try to snake out of it.

Good luck man.
My fiancé just got rear ended by some idiot trying to text and drive and now the insurance adjuster is giving her shit.

I'm tempted to hire a shady lawyer just bc they're being shitty.

Might be worth a check around the auto wreckers.

My sons girl friends car had someone rear end her, in a fairly mild way, similar to yours.

He found the right colour bumper & trunk lid at a wreckers, from a car that had a front end smash.

Bought these for about a quarter of the repair quote, just $300, did the spanner work himself, & saved her no claims bonus, which is much more than that.

Best part is, they are a perfect colour match, & no tell tail over spray.

So it's better to end up with a a hit-and-run? Maybe it depends on the mom...

Wow, that sucks. Sorry to hear about it. I doubt you'll get much in the way of diminished value. Parking lot accidents typically don't cause that much damage to begin with. As crazy as that woman was, I doubt she was going that fast in reverse but it certainly doesn't hurt to try for a diminished value claim.

Why would you recommend that? Mine lasted maybe 3 years.
