Sucks. Hopefully it all gets taken care of with insurance. I don't think you will have much issue with the value. Good luck.

Any update on the other insurance company paying for damages?

This is why I never park near the front of any store with the S2000, it's a magnet for bad drivers (women in Reverse are the worst kind of driver)

I dont think you are looking at any diminshed value it is a bumper cover, not the whole nose clips, save the pics and the police report, if I was buying it I would not have any worries assuming they used a OE bumper cover and painted it right.

OP: Some people need to be reduced -- permanently -- to taking the bus (her, not you).

Compounded judgment errors...

I was rear ended about 18 months ago, and the distortion to my bumper wasn't nearly as bad as yours. But they still had to replace the steel bumper beam underneath and the styrofoam energy absorbing inserts and repaint the cover. They removed the cover, repaired it and painted the whole thing. Total cost was around $750, IIRC. The guy that hit me paid for it out of his pocket rather than going to his insurance.

The shop did an excellent job on my bumper. You can't tell it was repainted. I'm not too worried about resale since I'm going to keep the car for a very long time but obviously I want it to look good. Heck - my car already has 207,000 miles on it. And with no frame damage or bondo, it will have little if no impact on resale.

I hope you find a shop as good as mine.

Hopefully it all goes well for you.

I do think however you might have over-reacted. If you had of simply traded details, cited her papers/license, plates etc you would have details.

But anyway.
