S2000 in IRL Commercial
Just saw a new commercial for the IRL, featuring a red s2000, and Michael Andretti teaching a kid how to drive stick. Starts out with the kid burning the tires as he takes off, then swingin the back end through the turns. All I gotta say, is nice choice in car for the commercial!

Believe me, I know for a fact, the ONLY sports car that he keeps at his residence, is a 2001 silverstone s2K! I heard that he apparently received the car as a gift from Honda for his participation in Team Honda Racing!

Yeah that is a cool commercial but one thing bums me out about it....Michael and all the other CART refugees used to make a point about the variety of courses we have on the CART schedule, like Long Beach. Laguna Seca, Elkhart Lake and so on. Now he's making a funny for a commercial about "why would you wanna turn RIGHT?". I love road racing and am sorry to have seen teams like Andretti/Green, Ganassi and Mo Nunn go to "the other side" as they have this year. I realize the many good reasons to have done it, but as I say Michael making jokes about right turns seems a bit too cynical to me.
But it is a great ad and a nice statement about our wonderful cars.

Economics....Bob! Michael left because he knows where the future is. Watch for the IRL(new chassis have fuel nozzles on both sides now) to add natural road courses and maybe Long Beach in a few years. CART is simply the Asylum run by the Nuts.
Michael's Honda engine blew early in the 500. This is would be his last race as he is becoming a team owner.
That commercial cracked me up. "Slowly release the clutch." Michael says as the kid does a nice burnout.
