Watch for the IRL(new chassis have fuel nozzles on both sides now) to add natural road courses and maybe Long Beach in a few years. CART is simply the Asylum run by the Nuts.
I thoroughly understand all the reasons Andretti, Ganassi, Nunn, and half of Rahal are all in the IRL. And yes CART is paying (literally) the price of years of bad leadership and bad decisons. At the moment the main difference I see is that the Hulman/George family has way deeper pockets than CART and will outlast the bleeding at CART. Both series have the sanctioning body subsidising weak fields.

As for road racing in IRL perhaps the new chassis do have the fueling buckhorn capability from both sides...however if you caught IRL's statement when CART lost the Elkhart Lake date there is very little interest in the forseeable future in any road courses being added to the schedule. Personally I would be surprised to see IRL at Long Beach ever as the Tony George credo is hatred for street racing and Chris Pook was the original motivating force behind that event since its inception in 1975.

And could you blame any road or street course promoter for their lack of interest? Outside of Indy and recently Motegi most IRL crowds are pathetic. It's hard to tell because ABC/ESPN are very skillful at avoiding prolonged shots of empty stands. They are also good at inserting phony billboards which don't really exist into their telecasts though as exemplified by the 7-Eleven and Argent Mortgage signs today at Indy. Yuch.

Sorry I got carried away there. I will take my meds and settle down now....

Not a great 500 for Honda. Even though Kanaan finished 3rd, there was only one other Honda in the the top 10. It seemed like they were blowing up at the same rate as the Chevys

[B]Yeah that is a cool commercial but one thing bums me out about it....Michael and all the other CART refugees used to make a point about the variety of courses we have on the CART schedule, like Long Beach. Laguna Seca, Elkhart Lake and so on.
