s2000 knob leather

i have a question for the s2k buffs. what year did the s2ks start putting leather around their aluminum shift knobs?

The solid aluminum shift knob could be cold as ice in winter or very hot in the sun, for the 2002 model it was changed to a combination leather and aluminum knob.

I have a 2003 leather knob just replaced with all metal - if you want for 50

thanks dlq04, i was looking at this knob on eBay and it was listed as a year 00' mint s2k knob. i wasn't sure but i thought they didn't come out till 03' and just wanted to verify.

They came out for MY2002. I have one on my 2002.
