S2000 lack of media coverage
I know the S2000 is a little late in it's life cycle, but it is still an outstanding vehicle. That is why articles like this baffle me:
http://motortrend.com/roadtests/coupe/112_...10convertibles/
They include the VW bug. They even include a freaking Jeep Wrangler. But, no S2000. With all the new convertibles hitting the market the next two years, I expect the S2000 to be ignored even more. But, you know what I have found interesting? When they DO include the S2000 in comparison tests, it still either wins outright, or always finishes at the very top. And this is against vehicles that are much newer designs.
I've always thought the S2000 was a pretty cool car, but it was after I drove it that I was hooked. I'm waiting until the 2006 models arrive to buy mine.

yes it is puzzling the inconsistent / lack of media coverage.
take for example this story... http://money.cnn.com/2005/07/14/Autos/carr...ibles/index.htm

I really liked what someone on this board once said about this topic, mentioning that the S2000 is the best kept secret in the auto world. So many people don't know what this car is, what it can do, and where it stands. Keeping the media coverage of the car low helps keep it at the top of the "head turning" class. If it was more heavily advertised, everyone would buy them - or at least a lot more people would - which would actually detract from the thrilling experience we have of owning one, and being "in" on the secret. Keep our car mysterious!

Lack of attention is not always bad. Like Drunken_Monk has continued to say "The S2000 is the road's best kept secret."
Hope it stays like that ! Trending Topics

I remember a "recent" article that compared the S2000 to the 350Z and the RX-8. When they did the final placement the S2000 was dead last at #3. But after reading through the article it wasn't because it was a crappy car. It was because it was "too intense" and too much of a strictly a driver's car. I was a little surprised but based on what the article was focusing on I could maybe see why they made their decision the way they did.
I think also that the S2000 has been around in it's present form for a while and may not be as "new" to editors and writers as some of the other cars.
