S2000 lap-times?
I'm trying to find some lap times for the S2000. The track/s is not that important but I'd like to compare it to other cars that were there that day. Car magazines often take perfornace cars to track and publish the lap times but I can't seem to find any with S2000 :-( Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I'm from Australia, so if anyone 'local' has had the S2000 on the track, can you tell me what lap time you achieved? I've been to Phillip Island and Sandown so those two tracks in particular I'm very familiar with.
Last of all, I've found an S2000 lap time for Nurburgring (a track that all performace cars are judged by). The time was set by an experienced driver who knows the track well and he managed 8:39 lap time. In comparison, the best ever time (by an unmodified road car) is 7:52 by Porsche 911GT3, a new M5 has managed 8:30 and a new GTR 7:59.
Anyway, any references or info that anyone has on this topic would be greatly appreciated :-)

David, Road and Track mag got a 2:17.66 for the S2000 at Thunderhil (California) in their recent drive test - check online at www.roadandtrack.com for info and comparos. There was also another track test they did about 6 months back (at Buttonville I think) - I have the mag somewhere.
If you are interested in local track times I suggest you join the Honda Sports Car Club of Victoria we have had a number of track days at Calder and Winton (unfortunately not Sandown or P.I). At Winton we were getting 1:45/1:50s for most vehicles. I do know drivers who have spent time in S2000s at your favorite circuits, however.
Send me an email and I'll try to help you out further.

Here's the Nurburgring lap time info from german car magazine Sport Auto. Just fromt these times you'd pressume that BoxterS is a fair bit quicker point-to-point and so is M3, but NSX and Corvette are about the same. Audi S4 and CLK Mercedes are a fair bit slower. Shame they did not have Z3 2.8, MX5, WRX and 2.7L Boxter there. Also, I would have been interested in 200SX, 330ci BMW.
