S2000 made me a worse driver
I haven't had this problem. My first car was a '66 Impala convertible and my brother had a '73 Olds 88 convertible around that same time which was even bigger. Learning to drive on cars that big/heavy with shit steering and drum brakes has made driving any semi-modern vehicle a simple task. I had a Chrysler 300 rental this past weekend while my car was in the shop--it was a huge boat on innertube tires but I never came close to curbing it. I think it's pretty easy to be aware of the footprint of the car you're driving no matter what it is or how many times you've driven it.
I daily drive a Jeep and I purposely hit curbs, trees, the occasional bird, and anything I can!!! The Jeep is my first non nice/sports car in my life, so I take every opportunity I can to hit stuff and park in the front rows at shopping centers. Its nice after over 12 years of being careful to not care. Off topic slightly, but I would say I am a slightly worse driver in the Jeep because it kind of has a mind of its own and wanders between the lines and doesnt track all that straight. LOL.
My other car is a 2G CTS-V too....great minds think alike. I can't say that I drive worse in the V than in the S. I've had both so long now that I make the automatic adjustment between the two. You just have to pay attention. I've never curbed the rims on my V.
I bet the front bumper trim on your V is scratched up, too! (Disclaimer: I screwed up the front bumper trim on mine *whistles* )
The bigger adjustment is when I have to switch to my wife's Pilot (FWD most of the time).

For those those that think I cant drive: Awesome, I hope you curb your rims, J/K. Come with me to a track event and Im sure your opinion will change.
If you're not adjusting your driving for your vehicle I'm not sure you "became worse" since you started off that way. We have 3 different vehicles including the S and it wouldn't make sense to drive any of them the same way I drive the others.
Apples and oranges. Some skills translate from one to the other but they're entirely different beasts. I know a guy who's great on the track and I won't ride with him on the streets because he is terrible on the road.
