I would think that it is cheaper to hand assemble cars like the S2000 and NSX instead of paying for a production line that would not see much use. How many S2000s and NSXs are produced each year vs. Civics? I would think that there would be much disparity between the two. Now as to the quality of hand vs. machine assembly all depends on the skill of the hand assembler, lets hope that they are paying for highly skilled people to assemble our cars. I don't think that Honda would go cheap on their flagship cars.
