Is the S2000 a modded import magnet?

Default Is the S2000 a modded import magnet?

I had a modified C5 for about 4.5 years and it was an awesome ride, but I rarely got into it on the street as no one tried to run me or entice me to race them.

I've had my '05 S2000 for 2.5 weeks now and I've already had 3 or 4 modified import guys trying to run me, an Integra with a fart tip, a Prelude with a fart tip, and some Nissan Sentra thing. I blew the Integra out of the water and the other two, I was in no position to run due to traffic conditions.

So, my question is, do import guys think that the S2000 is a measuring stick by which to measure how 'fast' or 'slow' their import is? If they can go back to their CREW and tell them that they took an S2000, do they get a merit badge or something???

When I first got it, I had people try to race me. Nowadays they just blow by and drive aggressive. At first I thought it was my imagination, but I get and see none of that in the Camry.

Actually, it does seem like a merit badge. And I've noticed this a lot too.
I remember a board I used to frequent when I owned an SI and the first guy to beat an s2000 felt like it was the crowning achievement of car-dom, along with his buddies and other posters.

It's just a measuring stick for cock size it seems. Which in that case, mine must be awfully small since I'm not going to get into it on the street.

Most cars that would be even to way faster usually don't do a thing but a thumbs up or something.

So, cliff notes: They are trying to prove something to their peers.

That's classic.

I got the same thing as I start modding my car but now I don't get to many just get pick on by bigger more powerful car. The smaller import just seem to look at my car and the bigger car rev at me. Sigh

People have tried to race me in just about every car I've owned. I usually ignore them, but if they're male with a female passenger I just point and laugh.

Since I got my S2 I have had a few people try to race me, including some guy in a vette! I told him it was stock and he looked disgusted.

I have definitely noticed that other drivers (of imports especially) seem to "show off" when they see the S2. I can only imagine that they want to be cool or something.

I don't race on the streets.
