Is the S2000 a modded import magnet?

I've had my MY02 for a week and a half, and already had a half dozen UCI students with chopped springs and fart pipes try to race me. The most fun was a businessman in an NSX that I fooled myself I kept up with.
What are the UCI students driving now? They used to all drive teggys when I went there.

I get alot of BOV clearing lately. Seems guys wanna tell you they're boosted.....or they like the sound.

I tend to drive wide open alot, and fools think I'm racing them. In reality, I'm just driving and could care less who was next to me (unless it was a black & white, ofcourse).

You are right about the racing thing. I used to and still get it occassionally with my Porsche 924S, but it is even more prevalent with the S2000. My wife remarked on it the last time we were out for a drive.
Go figure.

If you really want an S2000, save the money instead of buy noisy exhausts and eventually you will be able to buy one.

My S2000 is also a cop magnet. That's why I had to invest in a new Bel Radar Detector.

I had a modified C5 for about 4.5 years and it was an awesome ride, but I rarely got into it on the street as no one tried to run me or entice me to race them.

I've had my '05 S2000 for 2.5 weeks now and I've already had 3 or 4 modified import guys trying to run me, an Integra with a fart tip, a Prelude with a fart tip, and some Nissan Sentra thing. I blew the Integra out of the water and the other two, I was in no position to run due to traffic conditions.

So, my question is, do import guys think that the S2000 is a measuring stick by which to measure how 'fast' or 'slow' their import is? If they can go back to their CREW and tell them that they took an S2000, do they get a merit badge or something???
Yes, when I had my S I was challenged by the ricers on what seemed like a weekly basis. Since I got the Vette, I cannot find one that wants some

The UCI students drive some pretty sick vehicles IMHO. Examples would be the kid with the triple black M3 convertible with some bizarro staggered 19" wheels with black centers (look kinda like Kinesis but not sure) and a euro exhaust. That is a beautiful car. There are also a few big-time JDM spenders with tricked STi/WRX setups and the requisite BOV seems to be everywhere. The one that makes me chuckle every time is the kid with the Audi A4 with a LOUD bov.
The crazy thing is, it's always the dudes with the stiffly sprung civics that are revving all over the place, rasberry exhaust crackles makin' me wish I had the top up...

I get a little bit of it, but not too bad. I'm kind of interested to see if anyone else has noticed this though, or if it's somewhat specific to my area/color choice.....Does your S2000 seem to really piss off/provoke 3rd generation(82-92) F-Body (Camaro/Firebird) owners?? Seems specific to this generation too, doesn't seem to happen to me with the last gen ones.

At least for me in the San Jose area (CA), I don't get provoked. Not with the S, or the Bronco for that matter. LOL But in college I had a 67 Mustang GT 390 fastback. Everyone and the mother wanted to race me. Same with my 240Z. In the Mustang I would just pass em, middle finger up, tires burning (I was an a$$ in my earlier days) I miss that car

I always figured the kids revved at me because most of them have never seen an S2000 before, and want to see it scoot. The same thing use to happen when I was riding an FJ-1100 (when they were new, and the quickest and fastest production motorcycles in the world). I had one of only two in the area, and kids were always trying to get me to race. It's really funny to have a kid in a Corolla revving at a bike that runs in the 10's.

Never had the problem with the Vettes we owned, but I always figured that was because Vettes are so common.

Do people who live in areas with a high concentration of S2000's, like Atlanta, still have kids trying to race them all the time?
