honda is not predictable in these respects.. who knows what they will do.. i believe the s2000 will stop being produced after 06 or 07 as honda really likes its 4 year runs now.. and it will be replaced by an entirely new automobile to fill the 'sports car' spot in hondas lineup.. some say accord coupes will also get nixed and a new prelude will emerge.. who really knows until official press release time.. or until someone catches honda testing a car and releases spy shots for the world to see.. right now honda has its creative minds hard at work perfecting the next nsx.. and no doubt a lot of energy will continue to be devoted to a replacement of the popular rsx in their acura lineup which should roll out around a similar time to any s2000 replacement

I would hope that Honda would let the S2000 have its place in the sun and come out with a newly designed model in 2006-2007. I would move toward something in the likes of an S3000 maybe with a 300+hp high reving 6 or a boosted 4. The 3000 can reflect the 6 cylinder displacement or the HP of the boosted 4 cylinder.

Just my thoughts.
300 HP w/ a V6 engine..yes..Boosted 4?..never..

aus2000 your simple an idiot. have you seen that the old civic, integs, and the such all have new parts still being produces? It isnt greed, its compassion for our automobiles, if not discontinued, they will become "just another car". Would you have bouught the car if it was "just another" i think not. so, old man, this is the reasoning, and you claims about oem parts not readily available...c'mon...look around you, look at other cars and their parts...dont make rediculous claims...

Why don't we just carry on like usual and wait for Honda to do what they do? It's not like our talking about it is going to change the cars fate.

They'll stop making it either when it stops selling at the levels they want it to, or they have something better to replace it with.

Just a small thing; it's "You're simply an idiot" or "You simple idiot".
Either way, that's a personal attack. I take it from your S2ki age that you're not familiar with the rules. Attack the ball not the player or get sent off the field.

have you seen that the old civic, integs, and the such all have new parts still being produces?
Yes, I have, but they are mass produced cars. I'm sure if you look at the production numbers for Civics and Integras you will see that your analogy to the S2000 is flawed.

dont make rediculous claims...
Right back at you. And if you are going to, please learn to spell.

Answer: The sales rep that wants your money.

Go an ask your dealer. I bet they are still saying it's limited production and this is the last year. Better buy now.
Actually I remember reading it from an official Honda press release back in early 1999 when they announced the production of the S2000.

Limited production was one of the many things that attracted me to the S2000.

Ah, well if it was from the marketing department then it must be true.

"Limited Production" in marketing speak means "It's probably a niche market so we'll inflate the price and not sell as many as we do Civics."

I hope Honda does not discontinue production of the S2000. I would rather see the S2000 evolve and improve over the coming years. I know it's unlikely, but I'd still like to see Honda shoehorn a V6 under the hood or release an S2000 coupe version.
