The S2000 is no more!!!
I was at my friends house and her father works for honda and he is obsessed with the S2000 and even owns one, anyway we got to talking and he was telling me that this was the last year of the S2000 as we know it, after this year it will be significantly changed.
Apparently when Honda came out with the S they had developped two state of the art engines, the 4banger that comes in all S2000's and a 6cylinder, they kept the 6cylinder under raps. He was telling me that in the spring hes off to San diego to test drive and learn about the new S, which he said will now be called the S204 or something like that.
Now lets talk numbers, he said that he didnt know wether it was going to be a V6 or inline but his money is on the lighter inline six, light weight aluminum. Power ouput would be no less than 270 and torque we didnt discuss but I expect near 200. The cars looks will be similar but different, youll be able to see the evolution from S2000 to this new iteration, Im not how close or not theyll be but hes convinced it will be close.
The best part is that the cost is not going up, he was telling me that the new accord is 10 times better than the old one and only went up 400-500 dollars, so he said look for a similar increase.
oh and its still going to be convertible for all you people saying that honda is coming up with a coupe apparently your all wrong. Im really good friends with the father and he was telling me that he would pull some strings to help me out with the price!!!
Man I cant wait to get this car, I loved the S2000 and I bet the S204 or whatever it will be called will be that much better, and now we wont be comparing ourselves to 350z's anymore, not that its not a great car but soon the battle will be over, thank you HONDA!!!

I heard it was coming with a big block checvy 454

The SSM, (the s2k prototype) was an I5.
S2004? (
again)
The name S2000 is for a 2000cc engine, not for model year 2000.
Or are you saying they are staying w/ 2.004 liters in the new 6? If that were the case they would have called our cars the S1997
