S2000 to NSX?
So here's the deal. While I love my S2000 very much, I am thinking about something nicer now. I would mainly like something with a little more room and quieter on longer trips without sacraficing the thrill of driving.
I would also like something with a little more juice. Do you think this would be a good move to an 02 or 03 NSX, or would I be disappointed?
If this is a good idea, should I do it now or wait for a new model NSX?
I would expect flaming on this but would appreciate intelligent comments.

I don't think the NSX is dramatically faster than the S2000, but from what other NSX owners have said, it's much smoother and a little more refined. I think the NSX is an absolute thrill to drive.
It doesn't appear that a new model will appear until 2005 or 2006, and it's still undecided as to whether the new model will only get a facelift of a full makeover. This is according to the latest issue of Motor Trend. (Nov 03)
It's up to you whether you should buy now or wait for the next model. I personally like the look of the pre-02 models.

My friend and coworker did just that. Still has his s2000 but is leasing an 03 NSX. Has about a year left on the lease. It's a hell of a car but of course when the completely redesigned one comes out in MY05 it will be much more worth the high pricetag than the current one.
If you can afford it , I'd say go for it.
You may want to become a member and post on NSX prime's website as they are a wonderful source for information.
Used NSX's tend to be driven quite hard and many have been "tracked." However, you're picking on up fairly new, so I would not worry about putting more $$ to completely "bulletproof" your NSX for longevity. Regardless, things to consider getting checked, not necessarily replaced, but checked would be:
Timing Belt
Water Pump and Valve Adjustment
Engine Hatch Struts
Fuel Filter Assembly
Ensure coolants were flushed
Air Filter
Ensure Tranny Oil replaced
my list was a lot more in depth as I was contemplating a '91/'92.. but due to maintenance costs and no warranty, I'm buying another s2000 instead
Just my $.02

You guys are great and thanks for the help.
If any of you have experience with the NSX, is it quieter and how does the trunk space compare to the S2000???
Thanks again for all the help.

I went from 01' s2000 to 95 NSX-T.....certainly two different cars....with 20 additional horses for 97+....sure will zoom zoom....
personal opinion :
s2000 : one fun, light, car to drive....convertible. less pressure to drive, and cheaper
nsx : one fun car to drive plus a whole lot more. More pressure to drive, and certainly a lot more expensive.
verdict....if you got the money, go for nsx
I sold both of my s2000 and my nsx....and now i am considering to get an nsx next year if things go well.
Two local guys wanted to buy my nsx...and both of them used to own 2 nsx's...go figure.
Good luck !

Quieter ? certainly......with the hard top on that is. The trunk space, comparable. S2000 is deeper, nsx is wider......as far as i can remember. NSX's trunk fits your golf club
