S2000 to NSX?
(The new gen. NSX will be my next car. That gives me a couple of years to save up and stuff. Or better yet, a couple of years to find my perfect future doctor (internist or neurosurgeon at least)
Don't rule out good financial advisor. Puts the others to shame.
I am also considering waiting for next generation, but this could be 2 or more years from now and may then decide that I like the old one better. Besides, if I added the SC to the NSX is would be 2 steps forward. Too bad all of my worries aren't like this.
I have also thought of the modena but I could use the other 70K to get my wife a new Range Rover and we would both be happy.

But then again, she hates SUVs, would rather have me drive, and loves the Modena.
YMMV
One of my friend's brothers buys NSX's, fixes them up, and sells them. He has had the same one now for about a year, '92, supercharged, I would love to own a car like that. He used to dabble in 911's but they were just too unreliable and expensive to fix once they are that old. He has never had to put any money in an older NSX, reliability wise they are like owning Accords if you are careful about what you buy and if you know their quirks ahead of time. They are incredible cars, the engine is one big sweet spot and the seating position will make you cry.
But- the top don't fold down.. heh heh heh.

I had an '01 S2k, and a month ago, picked up a 96 NSX. 95-96 isn't really any faster than an S2k. I'd say that if you have the money, get one. If you are worried about the speed, SC or get a 97+. Both the S2k and the NSX are more car than I'll ever really need anyway. Get what moves your heart.
A little nudge for you.
Here is my NSX.

about 4 months ago, I bough my friends 01 S2000 and he bought an 03, or rather leased, a silver 03. I've probably put about 500 miles on it so I'm rather familiar with it. If you like the way the S sounds, you will love the way the nsx sounds. I would say that straight in line with the S, the stereo system sucks. Only because it's very dated. The other think I noticed and didn't like as much is the steering. While it is a very tight car, the turns, lock to lock are like 3.2 whereas the S is like 2.4 so you will find yourself turning 3/4 of a turn when in the S it was only like 1/2 a turn. Aside from those 2 things the car rocks.
When I owned my Third Gen RX7 (which I just sold (tear)) and looking to buy a second car, it was narrowed down to a 91-95 NSX and the S2000.
Obviously, I leased the S2k but... I wished i would've gotten the NSX. reasons were: I couldn't get a garage to put the NSX in, in the middle of buying an investment prop so I couldn't shell out a lump sum of cash, my parents nagged me about getting a nice, new reliable car, alot more trouble to buy a NSX b/c of shipment, research etc etc,
My feelings of rating these cars 1-modded 3rd Gen RX7 (take a ride and you'll see why) 2-NSX 3-S2000
Of course this is my taste, drving a real sports car and turning heads. The S2000 is great for cruising....but my RX7 was actually better for road trips (for the passengers too) of course taking into account you don't have a lot of luggage since the RX7 really doens't have a trunk. My hopeful future in the next 2 yrs is to have a house built and have a 95+ NSX, beater and a project RX7 in the garage. But of course I'm not married or have children which you never know could change.
My advice....I wouldn't marry a doctor...usually they have high debt, their professions are losing power and creditbility, have high divorce rates. I thought of becoming a doctor but decided I like my life as a drug dealer and don't feel like going through about 7 more yrs, even if it does mean I'll be earning about 150k. enjoy life!

CutieBonny... I am applying for Medical School next year. I want to be a Heart Surgeon... is that good enough? Unfortunately... you would have to wait another 12 years before I started making any money... So I can just smooch off of you until 2015... ok.
