i would do the swap, if i had the money. lol i would be able to keep my stock cluster. being able to keep the 8K redline, hum although my engine revs to 8.5K. yeah the NSX-R engine was something like 290 hp. right. hum anyone now the hp, tq and liter the nsx-r was? any who that would be awesome. i would only guess the reason behind this would be able to say they made a swap and keeping it all honda! i think the handling would be slightly effected.
Actually the NSX-R engine was rated at 280hp max like all Japanese cars before the new GT-R when Nissan broke the "Gentlemens agreement of not rating a car higher than 280hp". Despite this the NSX-R generally dyno'd at 315-320. The NSX guys have always tried to figure out what Honda did different other than blue print and balance to make that much extra power.

anything can be done if you throw enough money at it.

for the amount of work, i'll take a good ole LS motor over these, cheaper, SH_T load more parts and more power right off the bat.(not trying to please every single honda elitist here)

nice vw/audi can there!

I personally think the NSX engine has a sexier sound than the LSx engines. Its more of a crisp sound rather than a low troaty grunt sound.

I agree. LSx FTW.
But all engine swaps are cool in their own right.. especially difficult/complicated ones.

Sorry I'd heard the F430 engine was better than any previous Ferrari but that didn't say much to me. Also has anyone put significant enough miles "say 100k" w/o any major overhauls to back up your absolutely reliable statement?

I do runs with the local Ferrari group and it never fails that at least one has problems. Don't see the guy with the F430 that much but he's proud of the fact that it always starts. Not sure of his mileage though either.
Mine only has 129,000 miles on it with valve job at 110,000.

A friends got 170,000 before he did a rebuild, he passed away 1,000 miles short of seeing 200,000 miles on his.

Although I did have to rebuild the rear weber 2 years ago, so maybe that is why you think they are not reliable.

You can go to Ferrarichat.com and search for Corbani's posts, you will see his postings as he got near 200,000 miles on his Dino. And you will see comparisons with his Dino motor at 190,000 vs. mine at 120,000 after my valve job. And you will find other Ferrari's there with over 100,000 miles on them as well.

Not talking new toys here, those are bought by spoiled rich people who only drive them 3 weekends a year, I am talking old Ferraris that are driven regularly.

I regularly drive with Ferrari groups and never seen one with problems yet.

But ok...you wanna hate Ferrari's go ahead, I wont mind, this site is about S2000's and I wont say anymore.

Don't know where you got "hate Ferrari's" from and all I did was ask if you knew of anyone that had high miles on an F430 as to confirm you quote of them being absolutely reliable.

Well my apologies as it's true you can have a few that are extremely reliable just like you can have a few Hondas that aren't reliable at all. I'll be careful in making that generalized statement in the future. Think I would've learned my lesson in stating that "FD's" aren't reliable.

I pray to God no one does this swap to a street car. Leave these swaps to the race teams and engineers.
