Default S2000 OEM seats in C5 Corvette? Possible?

Can't stand the OEM seats in the Corvette. I have been researching what seats will fit into the Corvette while retaining the stock seat belts. The stock seats are very narrow, and the only seats that will fit have to be under 20" wide in order to retain the stock belts. I have sat in the S2000' s seats and like the quality and feel of the leather. I know that the S has a snug narrow fit. The only aftermarket seats that aren't too uncomfortable for daily driving that will fit are the Corbeau A4's and the Sparco Roadsters. I have seen S2000 seats go for a pair under 1K and would much rather put the S seats in. But, is it possible to take off the Honda seat belt clips? Could the seats be rendered to fit a universal slider in order to mount the seats in the Vette? Thank You, Greatly Appreciated

More than likely any S2000 seats for sale by an individual are stolen. Although I haven't heard of any recent reports there have been several over the past few years. So beware. That said, I can't answer your question but I do understand your desire to change the Vette's OEM seats. When I sat in the C5 I actually thought it was a defective seat until I went to another one on the showroom floor and it was equally too damn soft.

I owned an '03 S2000. As much as I liked the car, I found the seats to be too narrow to be comfortable if I had to spend more than an hour driving. The seats in my C5 are much more comfortable. There are many different power positions along with an effective lombar support. I say stick with the C5 in your OEM seats. Just my 2 cents.

the seat belt holder at the top of the seat by your shoulder is held in by 2 phillips screws. the seat belt buckle is held in by a single 14MM bolt IIRC. no problems at all taking that stuff off

Wow, this is fairly paranoid.

I have personally sold two pairs of seats in the last two years and neither of them were stolen.

Some people sell their seats after putting in racing seats. While there are stolen seats out there, there are legit deals out there too.

If you take off the seatbelt clip, I believe there will be holes in the leather.

The seat belt latch should come off without issue.

I no longer have the dimensions of the seats, but I believe it will fit width-wise. You would probably have to fab your own rails, which means you may loose any adjustment front to back.

Perhaps. I am sure you are right that some people would discard the OEM seats in favor of racing seats but I suspect a larger number would probably retain the OEM with the thought in mind they could reverse the process when they decided to sell the car. Really I have no way of knowing but I can say I have read a number of newspaper articles that were scanned into this site during the first few years of production that said S2000 stolen seats were a hot item due to Civic ricer demand.

I do not really seem to understand why so many people think S2000 seats are so great. The leather is average at best and they are not comfortable for longer trips. There are no adjustments to speak of.

I agree that the leather quality is awful (mine is particularly bad) but as far as comfort goes, for me they're perfect.

I agree; when it comes to sports cars these are very comfortable - even on long trips and I have all sorts of arthritus issues to deal with.

Are you less than 6' tall, and under 165 lbs?

The seats are too small for me, 6'1" 185..
