someone on vtec.net told me a while ago that the AP1 burns a little oil every time you go into VTEC. is this true? i've been checking my oil and the oil level is correlated with how much i go into VTEC. so was that guy right, or is my engine just burning oil when it shouldn't be?

 

no i'm pretty sure thats normal for the ap1's, but my question is what about the ap2? Does it gobble oil like the ap1?

 

I haven't noticed mine use any oil. I've never had to add any.

 

a lot of people seem to notice it happen more with certain oils over others. Mobile 1 seems to be the most common one that gets consumed. Krank vents can help stop it I guess. I needs to get me some o' dem.

 

I don't mind adding oil. Its not like its hard/expensive
