Control yourself for god's sake! I am still in my 20s, it can be done. You kill somebody on one of your 'reckless drives' and no one will be able to forgive you. Thats the bottom line, now do what you have to do.

Is this a joke? You were drunk driving, hit something and you come online for advice?

It's a little harsh, but has the stink of truth in it.

You'd be wise to listen up, O.P.

I'm more than twice your age and have done enough stupid s$%t for the both of us.
Relax, enjoy the ride, and stay alive.

My vote on selling/keeping your S........Keep, even if you don't drive it much.
Regardless of miles, you have your hands on something special, and increasingly rare.
Fix it.....drive it like a human would. Don't crash it, if at all possible. The fact that it's pushing
a quarter of a million miles is a testament to it's superiority, and the added bonus is that you
paid chump change for it.

Quit boozing it up and driving......Some people can do it, and some people can't.
You can't, and the people that can are still completely stupid for doing it.

Personally, I'm glad you're uninjured and alive to tell us your tale of woe.

Other option: Sell me your Honda. I'll give you $1500.00

Happy new year,
Jagg

I never expected this much input, drinking may be a whole other issue. Like I said, this was the first time I ever went drinking and driving after 5 years of experience. This little car bring out the crazy In I guess. My intention was to live a little but most importantly, without having to hurt anyone..

Dude this is soo hard, I'm leaning towards selling it.

Thanks again everyone!

Oh, Laddie.....

It's not hard at all.

You either want it, or you don't .

Good luck making up your mind.

Hi xcidex

Well I think you have learned one lesson about drinking & driving, & were lucky enough to do it cheaply. Hopefully you won't do that again.

Now to driving. You obviously have a lot to learn about driving. Going back to driving a cruddy old Camry you are never going to learn anything you have not already. Even the Camry probably requires more ability than you currently have, if or more probably, when the stuff hits the fan.

An S2000 is not the easiest car to handle, particularly if you have cheap tyres on it, & have not joined a club, who usually have somewhere safer than public roads to learn on, & people who can show you the right way to do things. Learn how to do it properly in your S2k, & you will be a so much better driver for it, it could even save you in a dangerous situation not of your making.

So, go learn, rather than sell the thing & run for cover.

Give the poor car a fighting chance of survival and sell it now please.

Sell your S2000 to someone who'll fix it up, as opposed to tear it up. And look in the mirror and realize you need to grow up. Good luck... you'll get there!

A number of years ago I encountered a guy, married with kids, engineer at local rocket motor company, had a couple of drinks for lunch and was in a no fault of his own accident in his BMW. Injury. 3 years in state prison. That was my "come to Jesus" moment when it came to consuming alcohol and driving. In Europe, some countries have a DUI limit that one (1) beer would put you over.

You may think you are a sharp person and one or two drinks won't affect you that much, that you are under the limit. Perhaps nothing will happen but the science is there and you are playing a game of chance with a nasty downside. You may not be the cause of an accident but you may not be able to avoid one someone else creates. If you have alcohol in your system you will be in the cross hairs of the legal system. One drink leads to another.

I just made up my mind years ago that if alcohol is to be consumed I just won't drive, period. It turns into a non-event really and you sure feel better behind the wheel with nothing in your system. You will never worry about a (as mentioned in above posts) the insanely expensive DUI, getting pulled over, or transiting a checkpoint. The big plus is you are sharp to avoid the other idiots on the road.

As far as selling the car, you will decide. Perhaps you will find as your employment changes you can get another S in the future.

Good luck.

^^ I like this advice. I live with the notion I always need to be able to drive. I am not someone who gets buzzed or drunk. Just not wired that way.

When I was younger I got flack for it. It's really not a problem later in life and I have never had a drinking related issue.
