S2000 ownership/ 2nd thoughts
If you realize that your not "mature" enough to drive an s2000, I am sure that you are self aware of the source of your immaturity. Having the s2000 is not the source of your immaturity; that's putting the blame on an object. The problem is you and that's what needs to be fixed.
You can drink and drive in a 1992 Camary. You can even speed, run red lights, hit a curb, hit a parked car in a Camary.
When I was 19-22 I loved riding motorcycles. I had about 4 close calls. 1) almost reared ended another driver because of tailgating
2) had a tank slapper on a mountain road
3) drag racing on a narrow street
4) running a red light because I dazed off thinking
After each close call I just changed the way I rode.

Besides, all this great advice about life aside, the S is sensitive to worn or cold rear tires, it will spin on you if you gas it mid corner, just be aware of that and you will be fine. This car can kill you if you don't respect it, tough choice. How do i know this...well experience and I am still here.
- I'm in 20's and make dumb decisions all the time
- I have dented the fender (driving reckless in the freeway)
- most recently spun it out getting off the freeway off ramp.
I ended up clipping a sidewalk, cracking my back rim and seemed to have knocked the front tires from alignment.
Disgusted... you act like Hillary and think you are invincible.
When I was in my 20's, I did reckless stuff all the time. I owned several crotch rockets and to be honest, it's a miracle I made it through alive. Wheelies, dragging knees while passing cars on highway entrance ramps, top-speed runs, you name it. I even was dumb enough to run from the cops once. I ended up getting caught because a guy from our riding group got caught and ratted us out. I crashed twice, but neither time convinced me to either grow up or sell the bikes. So yeah, I wasn't exactly very mature.
I think it's great that your able to admit that you might not be mature enough to own a car that entices you to drive recklessly. That in of itself requires a certain amount of self-awareness and maturity. The way I see it, you have two options:
1. Use this event as your "get out of jail free" card and maybe it might be enough to scare you into being more responsible with the car.
2. If you don't think you can do option one, then try to sell the car and get something boring that isn't going to encourage you to be reckless.
I'm not saying I drive like an angel. I doubt any of us do. Otherwise, we wouldn't own cars like the S2000. But with age, experience and maturity, one learns when conditions allow for a little fun, and when you need to turn it down a notch.

240K miles for $6?
ugh... Nearly nine years ago this car ran me $23K, and it hurts to hear what you nabbed one for. Please take care of the car, man.
It's great you can realize that driving a rear wheel drive car on wet roads while intoxicated is a bad idea (asshole captain obvious point out).
This car can be VERY unforgiving if that tail end comes out on you. And with it being your 'learner' car for a manual, with how you decided to get on it, dude.. I feel much more sorry for the car. You've got a long way to learn how the car responds. It is loads more touchy and responsive than your Camry.
I'll be one of many to let you in on a little well known secret of s2000 owners:
Parts are not cheap; insurance isn't really all that cheap; you'll likely buy a full set of tires every year; an AP1 diff will not take a lot of abuse; keep an eye on your oil level (AP1); be extremely careful not to money shift; 1st and 2nd gear vtec engagement will almost always throw you sideways if you're hotdoggin a turn, and, again, PARTS ARE NOT CHEAP!!
Be it mechanical or body. Get ready for dealer rape
But we've all, likely, have done some pretty idiotic things with vehicles.

^^ S2k was the cheapest car I ever operated. Tire size is just right for cheap rubber. $130/tire vs $250 now, and that was good rubber. Replacement parts were all cheap. Cracked a windshield, $190 installed at the office. Rotors, cheap. Brakes, cheap, 5qt of oil cheap.
Not sure what you're comparing it too cost wise.

I completely agree you shouldn't be behind the wheel of the s let alone any car the way you portray your driving abilities. Not sure why everyone here is choosing to be nice but that's not going to solve anything. Point blank OP was an idiot and got drunk and decided to go have fun. That's not a good idea behind the wheel of any car let alone a sports car. But even sober doesn't sound like he even has the slightest clue how to operate the s2k and its going to end bad either way. Best bet is to sell both cars get a bike and as said above grow the f up before you kill yourself or more importantly some innocent person driving home from work or something.
Hello, absolutely love everyone's input! Good or bad I expected to be ridiculed a bit. I learned my maturity isn't going to change any time soon since someone suggested I sell both cars and get a bike lol. I have decided to keep the car! Bent my rear shock, have to replace slave, get it aligned and definitely need new tire's.
I look forward in posting again soon, hopefully not any wrecked pic's.
