The color of my Pilot is Midnight Blue. At an angle or under low light, it can be mistaken for black. We were in Colorado the last week in August, and the weather was outstanding. Back home in Missouri, the temps were 100+.

Pike's Peak road is gravel but is not just meant for rally racing. It is open to the general public and everything from Rigs to Harleys venture up it.

Nice pics. You think that road is bad, you should try some of the other dirt pass roads west of Denver.

Mmm dust.

Regarding the performance at altitude, in a word, it sucks. VTEC kicks in later the higher you go and regardless the switchover is pretty much not apperant. I keep the cars with torque in Denver.

Wow Steve...that last pic is wild. I never really noticed the difference in power above 5,000 feet, although I never had the rpms in VTEC range. I was too afraid of running over one of those stupid cattle guards that seemed to be every 5 miles.

Yeah I guess you really have to ream it to notice. 1/4 times in Denver are well into the 15's or 16's for the S2k on a hot summer day.

Booo. But well worth the trip to sea level to experience the joys of VTEC.

Sorry to see your S2k go, but the Pilot is a good vehicle in it's own regard.
