S2000 production increase???

Hello all, I'm new to the board, but am fascinated by the wealth of information available as well as the excitement each of you have for your S2k's!!!
I've been waiting for my '01 black on black for a while, the build date is Dec.22. My dealer told me that due to limited demand for the Honda Insight, the S2000 is taking some of the Insight's "production space", and as a result, S2000s are getting built ahead of schedule. Anyone else, hear this rumor?

be weary of rumors and esp. those who you hear them from. Increase is doubtful since its more of a hand built car than a factory run like others. Never know, anything is possible. Regardless, just remember you are buying a great car, not just a toy for the rarity.

My dealer told me the NSX, S2000, and the Insight all share a production plant, but they don't seem to be a very valuable source of info...

Hook 'em, Ray! I am a little surprised that your dealer said that there was 'limited' demand for the Insight...I was under the impression that dealers can't keep those things on the lot?!
Also, yes, the Tochigi plant makes the S2000, Insight, and NSX. When the plant is tooled for NSX production, they make one car per day. I don't know about the other cars.
Just be leary of any suspected BS from dealers...they are generally full it!
