S2000 Purchase Question
Hello,
I'm looking to purchase a S2000 very soon. Can't wait!
However, I can only spend up to around 11-12k and am looking for a 2002/2003/2004 with about 60-80k miles.
I've seen a few with this price, just not in my area so I am waiting!
The question I have is: since its a convertible, has anyone notice a decline in price depending on the season its bought?
How much cheaper is it in the winter??
Thanks!
Nick

if you are looking at a 2004 with that kind of millage make sure its not a rebuilt title. Best time to buy I would say would be winter but the true best time would be anytime because it will be your best purchase yet.

oh idk but definitely not much probably 1 to 2k. I bought mine in winter and have not seen a price difference since. I would just suggest negotiate the price to what you want it to be, if you cant meet your terms move on.

This may be a fluke experience, but I purchased my 2000 S2000 with 24k miles last september for $15k (at KBB excellent price) and now, with 26k miles KBB says it is worth $19.5k.
Hope this helps.

Like the above posters mentioned, price usually may drop 1 - 2K depending on the location of the vehicle (sometimes not at all). However, do keep in mind that there are typically fewer available during winter months, so choices and options of vehicles go down as well...
Good luck with the hunt!

Thanks for the advice! It was just a thought and I'm at the hard place trying to decide whether to wait or not. If I find a good deal, I probably won't wait seeing how scarce they are in the Maryland region. It is looking like I'll have to travel to Virginia at the very least to buy one. From what I hear, it should be worth the adventure.

That's a good call. I do suggest having an expansive search too, I looked countrywide when I was in the market. That way, you're more likely to encounter a good car at a good price. As soon as you find the right one, pick it up!

There have been several threads on this exact topic recently that you may wish to search for. There is not a set amount that the price will drop based on seasons. Price will depend on many factors such as where the car is located (prices don't tend to drop much if at all in the winter in areas where convertibles can be driven all year), how desperate the seller is to get rid of the car, if the car is being sold private party vs dealership, condition of the car, etc. It always helps if you are willing to drive at least a few hundred miles to allow you to expand your search area. Just keep searching online every day and be ready to jump on the right deal when it comes along, good luck in your search.
