Default s2000 question for those higher mileage guys

Alright well for a while I wanted to buy a used EVO however it got to the point where between horror stories and high maintinence issues really scared me away and I started to want to try and find a car that I can focus more on the DRIVING part of the ownership, sure mods are fun but constant tuning, listening being paranoid that crack, creek or grind/squeek would be something to empty my wallet when I go to the Mitsu dealership for grinding gears or something of the sort... however in all this talk of tuning etc I lost the main purpose for loving a car and that is how it drives. I can admit I am addicted to the Evolutions ability, feel and overall fun however it comes at a price and I really think I would love to own a car I can do some bolt ons to, some cosmetics and just enjoy... instead of constant tuning etc.

I heard great things about the s2000, I love the car because on a nice day my friend was right, a convertible... mmm, not to mention the S does a lot of things well and it is not too small, like a miata or too boat like... like a SS Camaro convertible. To be honest I don't see a more well rounded convertible, a friend of mine is buying one... I really like the looks and the thought of just blasting through an open road or even holding low RPMs and just cruising... I live in Maine but I may be moving to a warm southern state soon. I love the build of the car, sitting in it feels great but to get to the point of the thread, I DO have a budget, two things concern me, dependability of higher mileage s2000's because I DO have a budget, unfortunately I would be exceeding that budget buying an EVO... I'd like to spend between $14,000 and a max of $18,000 for a car... that brings me to I believe a 30,000-90,000 mile S2000's... if I can spend less for some more miles I will do so providing the reviews of reliability/dependability of higher mileage s2000's are good however I don't think that is the case considering it has lots of delicate components I think.

Spending less would allow me to enjoy the car more instead of stretching myself to just make the payment. I think Honda and I think long term ownership, I think Toyota Supra, one of the most reliable sports cars ever made and still sell and run VERY strong under higher boost, high HP numbers with over 100,000 miles... I'd like the think the s2000 can be a solid 200,000 mile car but what do YOU guys think, your the experts. I know there are some out there with over 100k, but is that when things start to get messy? car gets tired? starts getting expensive to own because things start to break? or is this s2000 just like the NSX and Supra, made by a very reliable manufacturer to last? If that is the case then I think I'd be very serious in buying one. I'd love to spend $15,000 ish.

Was the clutch an expensive job? What kind of mileage is expected when the clutch goes on a taken care of untracked s2000?

About a grand or more. If you are gentle with your clutch, it should last 70k + miles.
