There is a DIY video from DIYGuy on youtube that addresses the issue. @Soviet

Be careful if you attempt to remove the button from the windshield. Lots of people wound up cracking the windshield trying to get it off. There is a right way or let a shop do it.

I am not up to date on other options as I just bought the OEM one.

A lot of aftermarket glass has the mirror area marked in the wrong spot. So changes are that is why yours is mounted up higher like that if the previous owner had the windshield replaced.
Yeah that would make sense, I'm probably gonna replace with the oem mirror and then change the glass on it. Thanks for the help

I would but I am not interested in wiring stuff up, I hate pulling panels and all that. Just gonna use the oem

I got mine to quit loosening up and rattling even though I got the screw as tight as I could. What I did was to get some double-sided foam tape. I cut small pieces to go in each of the four corners of the mirror mount. I just took one side of the backing off to stick each piece down and left the top backing on since I didn't want it to adhere to both surfaces. Then, I loosened up the set screw, slid it on the mount, and tightened it back up. The mirror doesn't rattle, buzz, or shake anymore. I think the foam tape just gave it more bite into the mounting surface and absorbs vibration better. Cheap fix ... just cut the tape to fit the areas below.

The silver piece is still attached to the windshield but the arm and mirror comes off. I've researched how to take it apart and put it back together, I have done it and made sure everything looks good, I tightened it, out it back on, pushed up hard to make sure it's in place, I then tightened it pretty tight. When I adjust it, it still wobbles and will eventually pop off. Not sure what else to do so I'm asking for help because it is really annoying. I thought about replacing it but I don't like any other mirrors out there, also I can't get the spoon glass replacement if my mirror still doesn't stay in place. Anyone able to help me out?
I had the same problem of it falling off when adjusting. There is a screw to tighten the mirror. A VERY special screw in that one end has a "minus" screwdriver slot and the other end has philips. There is no head on either end. The local dealer ordered it for me and all is now tight with no falling off or wabble. Make sure you don't strip out the philips with the wrong screwdriver.

How did you get the button/windshield mount off the windshield? I want to install a mirror with similar capabilities as you, without replacing the OEM windshield.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I have read a bunch of posts where guys have cracked the windshield attempting to remove the mirror mount. It has been said it is worth it to just go to an auto glass shop and have them remove it. They do it all the time.

Hi,
Thanks for the speedy reply.
I already tried that with the auto glass repair dealer I trust the most, and they wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole! Too much liability I guess. Regardless, is the windshield mount or some part of it somehow actually WITHIN the windshield itself or not? I think I see a 'black' sticker type of something within the windshield but I could be wrong!
I also have asked my dealership the same question about the mount, but they wouldn't provide any guidance, etc. What I normally get is Honda doesn't allow untested modifications and they can't provide any help.
