Um, hello, it has 33,000 miles.
Are you looking at the ebay auction link or something else? All I see is a picture of the odometer with 24 miles.

We're talking about two different S2k's. The one on the link is 24miles, but nastinupe1's talking about a different one. I don't know if it's got 33 miles or 33,000 miles...that's the question.

You saw how much people are asking for them. Asking and getting are two different things. Many people think that just because they love their car and paid too much for it to begin with that they will be able to get their dream price. They usually end up very disappointed.

My bad, that's right...Blue Bitch 2k (hehe) was the one who talked about a 33 mile s2000. We're talking about 3 different S2000 now!

They lowered it to start at $26,000, and the car just sat there. It never sold!!!!!!!!! Are our cars that crappy in terms of resale value? I mean this car was brand spankin' new. ONLY 33 MILES!!!!!!!!!! What's up with that?
BIG QUESTION: Why is an '03 S2000 with only 33 miles on it at auction. A dealer most certainly didn't buy it from Honda just to sell it for a quick loss at an auction. Most likely there is more to the story. It could have been stolen off the dealer lot and the engine blown (and repaired/replaced), just stolen, or the engine may have been blown during a test drive (and repaired/replaced). Not knowing what the true history of the car was and what repairs, if any, were made, how much would you pay for it at auction? $26k would seem like too much to me if I was a dealer and could get them from Honda for about $3k more.

I purchased my 2002 S2k NEW last August, and still own it...

....but I know 2 guys who just bought USED 2002's in Arizona. One paid $29,000 for one with 5500 miles and the other paid $28,750 for one with 6500 miles. No trade, straight deals, cash, one from dealer one from private owner.

So there you go, there's the resale value here in Arizona on a 2002.

I cannot speak for other years.

the car at the auction had 33 miles. not 33k. 33 miles is brand new. or at least test driven a bit...

We want to be careful not to base the strength of the resale value of an S2k on what a bunch of dealers are willing to bid on the car on a given day at an auto auction in early spring in Illinois.

Why is a dealer wholesaling a practically new S2k with 33 miles on it in the first place? It is not a wholesale type car. I think the dealer learned THAT pretty quick at the auction.

with Sheister.

It has to have at least something wrong with it. No one would pass up that deal if they were looking for an S2K and anyone with the money would have bought it and resold it pocketing an extra few grand in profit.
