S2000 resale prices
We're talking about two different S2k's. The one on the link is 24miles, but nastinupe1's talking about a different one. I don't know if it's got 33 miles or 33,000 miles...that's the question.

I was at an auto auction today, and on the block was an '03 Red S2K with 33 miles on it. Bidding started at $28,000. Nobody bid!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They lowered it to start at $26,000, and the car just sat there. It never sold!!!!!!!!! Are our cars that crappy in terms of resale value? I mean this car was brand spankin' new. ONLY 33 MILES!!!!!!!!!! What's up with that?

I purchased my 2002 S2k NEW last August, and still own it...
....but I know 2 guys who just bought USED 2002's in Arizona. One paid $29,000 for one with 5500 miles and the other paid $28,750 for one with 6500 miles. No trade, straight deals, cash, one from dealer one from private owner.
So there you go, there's the resale value here in Arizona on a 2002.
I cannot speak for other years.

Um, hello, it has 33,000 miles. That's why it didn't sell for that much. For an 03 with that many miles, I'd be willing to pay $23,000 tops. You can buy a 2000 with less than 30,000 miles for about $21,000. Why would anyone in their right mind pay $28,000 for one with 33,000 miles?

We want to be careful not to base the strength of the resale value of an S2k on what a bunch of dealers are willing to bid on the car on a given day at an auto auction in early spring in Illinois.
Why is a dealer wholesaling a practically new S2k with 33 miles on it in the first place? It is not a wholesale type car. I think the dealer learned THAT pretty quick at the auction.
with Sheister. It has to have at least something wrong with it. No one would pass up that deal if they were looking for an S2K and anyone with the money would have bought it and resold it pocketing an extra few grand in profit.
