Default S2000 Seat DIY

OK well as some people have asked about, here is a DIY on removing the mesh from S2000's with the hole in the headrest. WAY better looking IMO. But more wind noise when driving with top down.,(hope it's not a repost becuase this took me a while to do)

I did not intend on making a DIY on this so all the pics were taken after the fact. Please excuse the ones that seem a little out of order....

Before:

You DO NOT have to remove the seat from the car but I had mine out anyway....
Remove the hard plastic headrest backing.

Four screws and the plastic piece with mesh comes off the seat. (Green arrows)

Carefully cut out the mesh where the "honey combs" meet the outside edge. (I used an Olfa brand box cutter but any sharp small blade will do) DO NOT over cut, you are better to leave little "bits" of the Honey comb left on the outside edge and then clean them up later.

I used my Dremel with a cylindrical sanding bit to clean up the edges....

Assembly is reverse of removal...

If you cannot deal with the fact that the black will still show slightly, then DO NOT do this! From the cabin angle there is still a small (5mm) lip that you can see in the previous picture. It is not noticeable from the rear of the car.

AFTER:

Sorry, don't like the look at all. But, good write up. If you like it, fine.

Looks like a way for those owners with long hair to put their ponytails thru.

I thought about doing this too awhile back, but chickened out after I realized you have to cut the mesh out. No going back at that point.
