Here's the '02 knob.

I find it very comfortable.

Agreed, the shifter on the S2000 is precise as can be !

It makes you want to shift the gears even when it's not necessary.

I think the titanium shifter looks very nice but it just doesn't fit my big hand. I bought the recessed ball type shifter from MUZ and it makes shifting some much more comfortable.

There is less of an angle on my wrist when it rests on the new MUZ shift Knob because it is recessed and sits so much lower than the factory knob. It makes the shifter feel like a short shifter. The width of the new Muz knob makes the shifting action even more firm by allowing me to shift with my palm.

The shift knob has made the car that much more comfortable.
I'm also having the seat lowered so I will fit in the car better.

I will have no gripes left after I have the seat lowered today !

The car will finally fit me like a glove !

IMO, the MR2 shifts "better" than the S2000. I guess it's a matter of taste, but the S2000 has more resistance to movement between gears than the MR2, which is the smoothest shifter I've ever experienced. Getting in & out of gears in the MR2 is nearly effortless.

Shift action and super quick steering and transition above 6000 (in the right weather - it's underwelming in the heat) are the three best options. If they add more HP, IMO if it were all added above 6000 I'd be happy, though I know that goes counter to most here.

I had a VooDoo knob AND a short shift kit on my '96M Miata and I swear the throw was even shorter than the S2000! But, the price was it was stiff (due to have no "lever" to assist). It was like shifting with a joystick

I drove a 'vette for 3 years and the LONG shift lever was like a truck after driving the Miata. The first S2000 I test drove (being used to the 'vette) I thought the tranny had jammed trying to get it into 2nd! I swear - I thought it was hosed and then I realized it was just that short.

I put a VooDoo knob on my S2000 as well - makes it a little shorter throw w/o extra effort - and I love the knob.

The shift action is one of the really nice things about having an S2000.

Here is my photo of original aluminum knob and titanium knob side by side.

Guess which one is which?
Of course you can tell easily.
