In my AP1 i always noticed it had a distinct smell to it. It was sort of chemically, but in a good way, not so much a leather smell or a new car smell, but like its very own new car smell.
After a 76 trans am tried to eat my car I was S2Kless for quite a few years and 5-6 months ago I decided I needed another one. I found an 04 with 42k on it and went to the dealer to check it out.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the door was that same smell from 7 years ago. What is it and how do I keep it there? Has anyone else noticed a distinct S2000 smell? I kind of want to ask other owners on the road if I can smell their car to see if its the same thing.

 

I call that the scent of happiness. It has a calming effect before it gets into your pores and excites you!

I always assumed it was the leather.

 

 

i know what you mean...but it seems like some cars have their distinct smell...i used to love the smell of late 80's early 90's bimmers. haven't really sat in other s2k's so i don't know but mine def. has a unique smell.

my itr had a distinct smell, I can still remember it too. The S has it too but quite different. My theory is it's in the carpet.

 

that would be the smell of dried urine from when the previous owner wet themselves when driving it for the first time.

Never can fully get it out of the leather

 

My guess would be the leather. I wonder if a CR smells different inside of it since it has cloth seats...
